Given the limitations of traditional philanthropic efforts in achieving their desired impact, social facilitators are now seeking new tools to maximise their impact. Many investors have become increasingly interested in social enterprises and projects and are actively engaged in their development.
This session will discuss the role of philanthropy in contributing to the social investing space. How does venture philanthropy differ from traditional philanthropy? How does impact investing interact with the social investing space? What is more important in social investing – the rate of financial return, or the rate of social return? The discussion will provide a common ground for sharing expertise on what works in investing for impact.
